Annual Energy Cost   |   Motor Efficiency Guide
To calculate the annual energy savings of using a Premium-Efficiency motor:
1.  Enter the Premium Efficiency value.   Use the Motor Efficiency Guide for help determining efficiency values.
2.  Enter the Standard Efficiency value.
3.  Enter the Motor Horsepower.
4.  Enter your Average Energy Cost.   For a typical electric bill, divide the total dollars by the total kilowatt-hours to get this figure.
5.  Click Calculate.
6.  Read the Annual Energy Savings for 3000, 8000 hours annual usage.   3,000 hours usage is typical of HVAC fans and pumps that run 12 hours, 5 days a week, or 1-1/2 shift industrial plants.  8,000 hours is typical for motors running 24/7 with a few weeks shutdown.
Note: Calculations assume a 75% motor loading factor.  Studies show that most motors are about 75% loaded, with a few exceptions, such as compressors.
